Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team onsite in Syracuse, NY.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 am - 4:30 pm)Job ResponsibilitiesSupport projects and activities related to quality assurance, control, improvement and trainingProject management activities as they relate to identified areas within the laboratory requiring standardization to improve the quality and/or efficiency of operationsPrepare and support the laboratory for regulatory inspectionsMaintain all necessary documents and materials required for inspectionsProvide backup inspection support to laboratory during inspectionsKeep up with all required proficiency testing and examinationsCoordinate and track external and internal proficiency testingPerform internal audits and prepare audit reportsPrepare reoccurring quality reports for laboratory operationsStay current with all regulatory agency and proficiency test requirementsProvide proper initiation and use of Master Control forms for audit purposesParticipate in monthly Quality Meeting and compose minutesPerform administrative and clerical duties as neededMinimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology1 year or more of laboratory experiencePreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology1 year or more of experience in histology or cytology1 year or more of clinical laboratory experience1 year or more of experience in Quality Assurance/ControlASCP certification in Cytology or HistologyAdditional Job StandardsIn lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementsGeneral knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA/ISO) and licensing requirementsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresExperience working in a high volume laboratory environmentBasic understanding of audit related requirements and proceduresWorking knowledge of quality assurance best practices and proceduresExcellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
