Medical Assistant - Float

Job Description

Hire Up Staffing is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant Float to join a busy, well-established dermatology practice in the Bellaire area.

Shift: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm.


Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms before and between patient visits.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure they are comfortable.
• Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
• Scribe for physicians during patient visits.
• Send prescriptions electronically and complete prior authorizations.
• Assist providers with dermatology procedures and patient care.
• Float to other clinic locations as needed.
• Perform additional back-office duties to support the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent back-office Medical Assistant experience.
• Dermatology experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates without dermatology experience may be considered if they are Certified Medical Assistants with 3-4 years of recent primary care experience.
• Experience scribing for providers is required.
• Experience with EMA EHR is required.
• Experience with Pulse software is a plus.
• Comfortable learning multiple providers' workflows and adapting to different practice styles.
• Willing to travel between the Bellaire, Pearland, and Southwest Houston locations as needed.
• Nationally Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred. Candidates who are not certified must be willing to obtain certification.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Stable work history with strong tenure.
