Accounting Manager

You will lead a direct team of 3 staff members within a friendly, collaborative 7-person accounting office supporting 160 non-union employees across California (60 employees) and New Jersey (15 employees). This role operates on a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off for great work-life balance!

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and general ledger journal entries.
• Review monthly aging reports, assess cash flow requirements, and manage inventory reconciliation.
• Support month-end close cycles by preparing and posting month-end financial information.
• Maintain internal purchasing workflows and integrate purchasing background with accounting control.
• Serve as a liaison between the company, external accountants, and government agencies for audit and historical documentation purposes.

Payroll & Timekeeping (ADP)

• Execute weekly payroll processing using ADP (focused on core payroll operations; administrative/HR benefits administration is handled separately).
• Review and approve timesheets every Monday and Tuesday for accurate weekly payout.
• Onboard new hires into the timekeeping system and process status change updates.
• Ensure accurate tax withholdings, standard deductions, and annual W-2/1099 compliance.
