Timbrook Automotive is seeking motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our sales team as an Automotive Salesperson. The Automotive Salesperson is responsible for assisting customers throughout the vehicle purchasing process, from initial contact through delivery and follow-up. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Automotive Salesperson is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Greet and welcome customers in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Determine customer needs, preferences, and budget to assist in identifying appropriate vehicles.
• Present and demonstrate new and used vehicles, including features, options, benefits, and available equipment.
• Conduct vehicle demonstrations and test drives in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Explain vehicle features, technology, warranties, financing options, and available products accurately.
• Maintain current knowledge of vehicle models, specifications, features, pricing, incentives, and manufacturer programs.
• Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, email, text, and other approved communication methods.
• Follow up with prospective customers and existing customers regarding vehicle purchases, appointments, leads, and sales opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and timely customer information and sales activity in the dealership's CRM and other required systems.
• Work with management and the Finance & Insurance Department to complete the vehicle purchase process.
• Assist customers with completing required paperwork and ensure information is accurate and complete.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales promotions, incentives, inventory, and dealership policies.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and work to develop repeat and referral business.
• Meet or exceed established individual and dealership sales goals and performance expectations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing Timbrook Automotive.
• Keep the sales floor, customer areas, vehicle display areas, and assigned work areas clean, organized, and presentable.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of vehicles, including removing trash, organizing vehicles, and ensuring vehicles are ready for customer viewing or delivery.
• Ensure vehicles are properly displayed and that keys, vehicle information, and related materials are maintained appropriately.
• Assist with vehicle inventory activities, including locating vehicles, moving vehicles as directed, and helping maintain accurate inventory information.
• Follow all dealership policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Protect customer and company confidential information and maintain appropriate discretion when handling customer records and financial information.
• Attend required sales meetings, training programs, manufacturer training, and dealership meetings.
• Participate in continuing education and training to maintain product and sales knowledge.
• Work cooperatively with Sales Managers, Finance & Insurance personnel, Service, Parts, Detail, and other dealership departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous automotive sales, retail sales, customer service, or related experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use dealership software and CRM systems.
• Ability to learn automotive products, features, technology, and sales processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customers and tasks.
• Must be willing to work the schedule required by the dealership, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as applicable.

Physical Requirements

The position may require the employee to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Sit for periods of time while completing paperwork or using computer systems.
• Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Walk throughout the dealership and vehicle lot.
• Move around vehicles and dealership facilities safely.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items related to normal dealership operations.
• Perform cleaning and general vehicle presentation duties as needed.
• Work both indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for:

• Manufacturer training.
• Dealership or company meetings.
• Sales training and professional development.
• Other business-related activities as directed by management.

Work Environment

The Automotive Salesperson works in a dealership environment and may spend time in the showroom, offices, service and vehicle areas, and outside on the dealership lot. The position may involve interaction with customers throughout the day and exposure to varying weather conditions when working on the vehicle lot.
