Land Use Attorney

Land Use Attorney An established California law firm is seeking an experienced Land Use Attorney to join its team in Sacramento. This is a hybrid position offering a balance of remote and in-office work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land use and municipal law, with experience advising public entities and private clients on a wide range of planning, zoning, and development matters. Key Responsibilities Provide legal counsel on land use, zoning, planning, and development issues. Advise clients on compliance with CEQA, NEPA, and other environmental and regulatory requirements. Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, staff reports, and other legal documents. Represent clients in administrative hearings, public meetings, and court proceedings as needed. Collaborate with city and county staff, planning commissions, and other public agencies. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active member of the California Bar in good standing (required). Minimum 2+ years of experience in land use, municipal, or environmental law. Strong understanding of CEQA, planning and zoning laws, and local government operations. Compensation $140,000–$250,000 per year, based on geography, experience, and qualifications.
