Personal Banker Associate I

Overview Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program. The role focuses on consultative sales to acquire new households and deepen existing customer relationships. This position includes teller transaction processing and platform staff duties and emphasizes risk management and ethical conduct. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Use consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build thorough customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs. Maintain in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend solutions using the bank’s value proposition. Use CAMP and other approved marketing tools to reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews. Engage in cross‑selling to existing customers through outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events. Work closely with assigned business partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to refer customers and provide holistic financial solutions. Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, contributing to year‑over‑year revenue growth measured by the Financial Center P&L. Provide guidance to CSRs on the sales and referral process and promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor. Own customer issues and maintain trust, confidentiality, and compliance with the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and related policies. Adhere to policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of retail products. Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, handling loans from application through closing. Contribute to the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed by the manager. Stay updated on retail procedures to mitigate fraud and unnecessary risk or exposure. Working Conditions Normal office environment with extended computer screen use. The role requires travel within the affiliate for training as well as occasional travel outside the affiliate for classroom sessions. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities College degree or equivalent work experience providing transferable skills; preferred experience in the financial industry. Demonstrated comfort with sales activities aimed at acquiring new consumer households and small business customers or cross‑selling to established customers. Strong mathematical ability to analyze credit and financial information. Professional appearance and verbal/written communication skills. Knowledge of retail policies and procedures with sound judgment for decision making. Must register for the S.A.F.E. Act through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) upon employment.
