Job Title: Pump Associate Job Description

The Pump Associate supports mill room operations by safely and accurately filling, labeling, and preparing materials for shipment. This role operates pump equipment to precise specifications, performs quality checks, and ensures production schedules are completed by the end of each shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Fill approved materials such as drums, totes, and cans using pump equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Operate pump equipment to meet customer specifications, ensuring accurate measurements and proper handling of materials.
• Select and install the appropriate filter prior to running pumps to maintain product quality and equipment performance.
• Label each tote, drum, and can with correct material stickers to ensure accurate identification and traceability.
• Manage the scale and weigh all products prior to shipment to confirm correct quantities and compliance with order requirements.
• Perform quality checks on all drums and other containers before shipment to verify they meet standards and specifications.
• Complete the full production schedule prior to the end of each shift, maintaining productivity and meeting operational targets.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working on the manufacturing floor.
• Work independently and coordinate with the supervisor as needed to resolve issues and keep production running smoothly.

Essential Skills

• Prior manufacturing or production experience in an industrial or plant environment.
• Familiarity with production and manufacturing environments, including understanding of metrics and performance expectations.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to add and subtract measurements accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to be clean shaven or shave as needed to properly wear a respirator or mask when required.
• Ownership of or willingness to wear steel-toed boots or shoes in compliance with safety requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Batch-making experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Forklift experience and comfort working around hi-los and other material-handling equipment.

Work Environment

This role is based on a manufacturing floor that is dirty but well organized and well lit. The facility is not climate controlled, so it can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The environment smells like paint, and hi-los and other equipment move through the area frequently, requiring awareness and adherence to safety practices. The schedule follows a first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with four 10-hour workdays. Work is largely independent, with the immediate team consisting of the associate and a supervisor. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required and provided, and steel-toed boots or shoes must be worn.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
