Job Summary:

Join a dedicated team as a full-time Nutrition and Dietary Specialist working evening shifts from 12pm to 8pm with rotating weekends. This role involves managing meal orders, coordinating food service, and ensuring patient satisfaction in a healthcare setting located in the Midwest region of the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently obtain and process meal orders from patients and visitors using established systems, including telephone orders.
• Verify that meal orders comply with dietary requirements and document all necessary information accurately.
• Serve meals professionally, assist patients with the meal ordering system, and assess their ability to participate in the process.
• Act as a liaison between nutrition services, patients, and nursing units to address concerns and ensure smooth communication.
• Coordinate tray assembly and delivery, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely service of patient meals.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards following HACCP guidelines and local regulations.
• Prepare tube feedings as ordered and manage pantry supplies for nursing units.
• Perform quality assurance tasks, including garnishing and portioning food items according to recipes and plating guides.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of food service areas and equipment.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in nutrition, dietary services, or food service in a healthcare environment is beneficial.

Work Environment:

This position operates on the second shift in a healthcare facility serving the Midwest region, offering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere focused on patient care and nutrition.
