Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned Cardiac and Telemetry patients
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation; willingness to float is required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Telemetry or related nursing specialty
• Must be willing to float as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Background working with Cardiac and Telemetry patient populations (non-stepdown setting)
