Principal Scientist (Director) - Rheumatology Outcomes Research

Role Summary Under the guidance of an Executive Director, the Principal Scientist/Director is primarily responsible for developing value evidence strategies and managing real‑world and economic evidence activities for pipeline assets in rheumatology. The role supports clinicians, payers, policymakers, HTA/reimbursement agencies, and health systems worldwide, ensuring product value is defined and developed to achieve optimal market/patient access and reimbursement. Responsibilities Lead value evidence teams and develop value evidence strategies for in‑line and pipeline products. Obtain senior management approval of evidence generation plans. Provide outcomes research leadership on cross‑functional regional and global teams. Critically assess drivers and barriers to reimbursement and market access, supplying input into clinical, regulatory, payer/access, marketing, and evidence generation strategies. Design studies, author protocols, develop measurement questionnaires, case report forms, data analysis plans, final study reports, scientific presentations, and publications. Manage study‑related contracting, budgets, and vendor/partner relationships while ensuring conduct aligns with company policies, SOPs, and worldwide regulations and standards, including Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practice (GPP). Develop American Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) dossiers for US payers and Global Value Dossiers for local subsidiaries’ HTA submissions. Collaborate with markets and HTA statistics groups to create supplementary clinical data packages for HTA agencies. Support country affiliates to understand local evidence generation needs, adapt health economic evaluations, and customize outcomes research documents for local requirements. Communicate outcomes research and health economic modelling data internally and to external stakeholders effectively. Maintain awareness of new scientific and methodological developments within the therapeutic area. Build relationships with scientific experts worldwide and present research data at national and international congresses, publishing in scientific journals. Qualifications Minimum doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, PharmD) in a relevant discipline (health services research, outcomes research, epidemiology, public health, health economics, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacy administration). Seven or more years of experience post‑degree in a related field.
