The HR Coordinator (6 month Contract) plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day HR operations with a focus on temporary workforce onboarding, new hire orientation, workforce management, scheduling coordination, and performance tracking. This role partners closely with HR, supervisors, and talent acquisition to ensure a smooth and compliant employee experience from onboarding through conversion to full-time status.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who thrives in a manufacturing or high-volume environment.

1. Temporary Employee Onboarding & Agency Coordination

• Partner with Talent Acquisition to coordinate onboarding for temporary employees
• Track temp employee start dates, assignments, and hours worked toward conversion thresholds
• Serve as a point of contact for temporary employees during onboarding and assignment lifecycle

2. New Hire Orientation (NEO)

• Coordinate and facilitate weekly new hire orientation sessions
• Prepare onboarding materials, schedules, and training resources
• Ensure completion of required documentation ( policy acknowledgements, system entry)
• Partner with supervisors to ensure smooth handoff to the production floor

3. Workforce Management & Scheduling Support

• Maintain and update workforce rosters, shift assignments, and headcount tracking
• Support workforce scheduling processes in collaboration with operations and supervisors
• Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and schedule adherence (Dayforce or similar systems)
• Assist in identifying staffing gaps and escalating risks to HR leadership

4. Temp-to-Full-Time Conversion Tracking

• Monitor temporary employees’ hours (e.g., 480-hour thresholds) and eligibility for conversion
• Maintain accurate conversion trackers and dashboards
• Coordinate conversion process with HR, Talent Acquisition, and supervisors
• Ensure timely processing of conversions to meet operational needs
• Support in Conversion meetings

5. Performance Management Support

• Assist supervisors with tracking temporary employee performance, attendance, and disciplinary actions
• Support preparation for performance reviews and employee status updates
• Help track trends (attendance, turnover, discipline) to support workforce decisions

6. HR Operations & Administrative Support

• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
• Assist with reporting and dashboards (headcount, hiring, attrition, conversion)
• Support audits (training compliance, onboarding documentation, etc.)
• Assist with employee communications (bulletin boards, huddles, announcements)

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred
• 1–3 years of HR, staffing, or workforce coordination experience
• Experience in a high-volume or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (tracking, data entry, basic reporting)
• Strong communication skills with ability to engage hourly employees and leadership

Preferred:

• Experience working with staffing agencies and temporary workforce programs
• Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Dayforce or similar)
• Experience supporting scheduling or workforce planning
• Knowledge of basic employment law and HR compliance practices

Please note that this role will be onsite at YVO. This role will be in person,. The role will need to flex hours as needed for support. This role will require that Safety Toe shoes are worn at all times while in the facility that the candidate must provide. Other additional PPE will be provided by H-D onsite for role.

  • Starting in January, this role will be on 2nd Shift (7:30PM-6:00AM Sunday-Wednesday)
