We are seeking a motivated and customer service oriented PBX Operator to handle all communications and guest requests in a positive and professional manner.Essential FunctionsJob duties include; although are not limited to:Answering and processing all incoming/outgoing guest and in-house callsProviding prompt and courteous switchboard services to our guests, including message taking when necessaryForwarding messages and faxes as needed to guests and various departmentsAnswering basic inquiries for guests in a courteous and efficient mannerRemaining aware of daily events, restaurant, entertainment, and special events in local areaEnsuring wake up calls are properly monitored and are promptly placed within parameters of hotel policies and standardsManaging 3-4 calls per minutePosting appropriate telephone charges when requiredAdhering to safety regulations and emergency proceduresActively coordinating communications within the hotel, including emergency procedure, alarms, life safety, and moreAssisting the front desk with miscellaneous tasks such as filing, copying, and word processing when necessaryPerforming any other job related duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious communications or switchboard experience preferredClear and effective verbal and written communication skills requiredMust be willing and able to multi-taskBasic knowledge of computers and computer-aided research requiredMust have excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skillsPhysical RequirementsMost work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours a day. Walking and standing are occasionally required. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
