Accounting SupervisorWildfire Defense Systems (WDS) is the North American leader in insurer wildfire services, combining professional wildfire consulting and loss intervention services with Qualified Insurance Resources (QIR). Founded in 2001 to fulfill initial-attack assignments for the US Forest Service, the company added professional services support in 2005 and launched wildfire loss- intervention programs for insurers in 2008.WDS Wildfire Loss Intervention Service (WDS Service) applies a comprehensive approach to reducing risk in catastrophic exposure on an industry scale, decreasing the average annual loss (AAL) for our insurer clients, and providing peace of mind to their policy holders during wildfire events. WDS provides these industry-leading services to insurer clients and their policy holders across a 22-state service area.The Accounting Supervisor is the primary manager over the organizational functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and revenue recognition, and Balance Sheet reconciliation. This position manages the Accounting staff including performance management assessments, hiring and disciplinary actions in accordance with WDS People Operations policies. Responsibilities support Accounting/Finance to fulfill their Department Charter.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise a staff of 2-5 Accounting Specialists in a full cycle manner including employee experience and engagement, and providing ongoing mentoringMaintain full reconciliation of Balance Sheet on a monthly basisQ.A./Q.C. work product of Accounting SpecialistsSubject matter expert for organization's E.R.P., managing projects, codes, classes, etc., as well as access for employees to the systemInterface with internal clients to provide exceptional quality support, enforce company policies, and provide Accounting leadership and trainingSupervise tax responsibilities including reporting, payment and communications with external stakeholdersWork with supervisor to provide timely and accurate financial reportingCommunicate with CRM's to recognize deferred revenue in the appropriate timeManage the Credit Card system researching fraud, cancelling and reordering cards, and ensuring that proper credit levels are maintainedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises staff of 2-5 Accounting SpecialistsJob Requirements1.
