Electrical and Instrumentation Designer III

Electrical and Instrumentation Designer III Provide design support for E&I disciplines under supervision of Engineers and Lead Designers. The Designer contributes to construction drawings and related deliverables while learning industry standards, company procedures, and best practices. This role offers a growth path toward increased technical responsibility and design complexity. Job Responsibilities Generate issued for construction deliverables such as: One-Line Diagrams Schematics Electrical Area Classification Plans Wiring Diagrams Lighting Plans & Details J-box Design, BOM & Wiring Diagram Cable specification and Sizing Instrument Location Plans Cable tray modeling, design, details, and bill of materials. Perform technical reviews of electrical equipment bids. Self‑checking. Maintain schedules and report on work progress. Mentoring of less experienced electrical designers. Build and maintain professional relationships with other disciplines. Develop and improve technical knowledge and skills. Travel to client offices and production facilities. Qualifications 4–8 years’ electrical design experience. Proficient with AutoCAD 2022 or newer. Proficient with AutoCAD 3D. Capable of working with Microsoft Word and Excel documents. Capability to work multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to accept direction, feedback, and mentorship. Availability to work in office for first 6 months of employment. Preferred (Not Required) Experience working in the field. Oil and gas experience. Pharmaceutical experience. Electric heat trace design and specification. Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu. Familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks Freedom. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams. Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). Experience with typical instrumentation IFC deliverables, instrument location plans, loop diagrams, control panel design, BOM, and schematics. Target Salary Range : $42.00 to $46.00/hr. Physical Requirements Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms. Constantly use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate objects. Light work that includes lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and, occasionally, up to 50 pounds. Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification include those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Requires composure and ability to prioritize and manage several urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy. Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders to read meters at active facility sites. Environmental factors mostly consist of work being conducted in an indoor office environment, but are not limited to extreme temperatures (e.g., cold, heat), fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise due to some travel & work on worksites.
