Technical Maintenance Technician

This isn't just another maintenance role. You'll be the technical backbone of a combined-cycle power plant in Denver, Coloradokeeping the lights on for thousands while ensuring every system runs safely, efficiently, and in full compliance. If you're the kind of technician who thrives on solving complex control puzzles, owns your systems like they're your own, and takes pride in zero-incident operations, this is your next move.

You'll monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair the plant's electrical, controls, and instrumentation systemseverything from digital control systems and PLCs to pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuits. You'll own specific systems as part of a System Ownership team, meaning you'll help shape maintenance strategy, manage spare parts, plan outages, and even initiate purchase requisitions for your assigned equipment. You'll be the go-to for electrical maintenance on equipment under 600 volts, with backup responsibility for systems above 600 volts. When outages hit, you'll wire and unwire motors, swap components, and keep the work moving. You'll also verify absence of voltage on everything from DC through 125V to AC through 230kVusing meters or non-contact detectors with confidence and precision. Troubleshooting is your bread and butter: contactors, motor starters, single-phasing on motors, lighting circuits, protective relay tripsyou'll diagnose the root cause, communicate it clearly, and repair the initiating problem in line with NERC standards. You'll also partner with Operations Technicians, Management, and Engineering on PLC/DCS/controls programming, calibration, system health monitoring, and performance optimization. Every shift starts with a Job Safety Briefing (JSB), and you'll conduct quality JSBs for every job. You'll document everything in the plant's computer-based work management system, including the Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS).
