They provide outstanding guest service experiences within a sales culture that utilizes elements of GameStop's Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model. This position ensures products are easily accessible and purchasable, boosts sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty and repeat business.\nESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests, respond to guest questions/concerns promptly, effectively, and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about special promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply all selling behaviors during each transaction, and express gratitude to every guest for choosing GameStop. Prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate this commitment by circulating throughout the store.\n Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.\n Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) computer system, ensuring top-notch guest service.\n Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally to ensure every guest receives top-notch guest service.\n Promote GameStop’s unique guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.\n Ensure that all areas of the store, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines. Ensure all store fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.\n Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.\n Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and making bank deposits as required.\n Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures, and move products from the stock room to the front of the store to ensure that all products in the store are represented, organized, and alphabetized on the selling floor.\n Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.\n Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system. Ensure that all closeout paperwork for daily business transactions and bank deposit slips are completed correctly and accurately. Assist management in ensuring the store has sufficient cash and change for sales transactions. Make daily bank deposits following established guidelines.\n Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and record any discrepancies in the POS system. Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager / Store Manager 2 /Assistant Store Manager as needed.\n Process defectives/recalls, and stock pulls accurately and promptly, ensuring that all boxes are properly labeled and include packing lists.\n Visually inspect associates' and leaders' packages and/or belongings at store closing or at the end of a shift.\n Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.\n Consistently adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, all policies and procedures in the Associate Handbook and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.\n Follow all opening and closing procedures.\n Observe associate performance and provide timely and appropriate feedback to the store management.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS*\n\n Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.\n Must be at least 18 years old.\n High school diploma or equivalent required.\n At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.\n Video game knowledge preferred.\n Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.\n\nREQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES \n\n Exceptional guest service skills.\n Provide genuine and friendly assistance to every guest during each visit.\n Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication and listening skills, both in person and on the phone, using spoken and written English; bilingual English/Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred.\n Work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.\n Meet associate performance expectations, including attendance, professional dress, and grooming requirements.\n Operate the POS computer system and properly complete the required paperwork.\n Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and alphabetizing skills.\n Self-motivation and ability to work as a team to complete necessary tasks in a timely manner.\n Problem-solving skills and judgment abilities.\n Follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.\n Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.\n Work a flexible schedule, including extended hours/days as necessary, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
