Steel Estimator This position will work together with the Sales Team. Department: Sales Reporting Manager: Sales Manager Primary Responsibilities Prepare pricing estimates and takeoffs of all material and labor required for the project. Work with suppliers to get up-to-date material pricing. Coordinate with operations and outside vendors on how the job is to be built in both our shop and in the field. Work with end client to ensure all needs and delivery dates are being met. Physical Requirements Work will be performed in an indoor office environment and working from home. Position requires long durations committed to independent reading and computation. Strong concentration skills necessary. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Required Skills 2-4 years’ experience in the structural steel estimating field. Basic understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices including knowledge of structural shapes, installation and erection methods, and general industry knowledge. Ability to read and interpret construction documents including design drawings and specification documents. Microsoft software applications including MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Drive. Emphasis on Excel. Experience with PDF review/editing software (Bluebeam, Acrobat), STREAK. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents. Strong math and geometry skills. Ability to multi‑task. Must be detail‑oriented and can focus on given tasks.
