What You Will Be Doing Develop and coach Guides to execute Alpha's coaching model with consistency, enthusiasm, and rigorous standards. Facilitate dynamic life skills workshops addressing communication, focus, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8 students using established frameworks. Analyze student and Guide performance metrics to uncover coaching opportunities, eliminate obstacles, and produce measurable weekly progress. Conduct motivation sessions that empower every student to embrace ambitious goals and consistently reach them. Manage your own student cohort while exemplifying the coaching quality and accountability you require from all Guides. What You Won’t Be Doing Instructing academic subjects. Students complete core academics independently via AI-powered learning platforms. Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Your responsibility is outstanding coaching, not producing instructional content. Controlling classrooms through lectures, worksheets, or behavioral systems. Students direct their learning, and you coach the habits enabling their success. Reducing standards to sidestep challenging conversations. Learning And Development Manager Key Responsibilities Establish a coaching culture where outstanding Guides reliably develop students who embrace school, achieve academic mastery at accelerated rates, and cultivate the resilience, leadership, and life skills necessary to thrive well beyond the classroom. Basic Requirements Available to work on campus in Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; Oklahoma City, OK; or The Woodlands (Houston), TX (relocation assistance available). Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline. 5+ years leading adults in education, learning and development, youth leadership, coaching, or similar performance-focused environments. Proven success managing teams of five or more individuals, including recruitment, coaching, performance management, and challenging accountability discussions. Direct experience working with children ages 5-14 in educational, developmental, athletic, or youth leadership contexts. History of building, launching, scaling, or substantially improving a program, team, school, business, or initiative. Demonstrated capability to leverage performance metrics and data for problem diagnosis, action prioritization, and measurable result delivery. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Nice-to-have Requirements Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related field. Background coaching athletics, leading outdoor or experiential education programs, directing camps, youth initiatives, or other cohort-based organizations. Experience establishing or leading innovative education, EdTech, tutoring, nonprofit, or learning programs beyond conventional classroom instruction. Record of exceptional personal achievement in academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or leadership. Deep belief that education should produce capable, resilient, independent young people instead of merely transmitting academic content. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
