Oak Animal Hospital Overview Oak Animal Hospital is a thriving 3‑doctor practice that has been in business for 30+ years. Our doctors are passionate about mentorship and love to help veterinary students and new DVMs advance in their careers. Externship Responsibilities Work closely with a supervising veterinarian to gather patient histories Perform physical examinations Create treatment plans Conduct diagnostics and dentistry services Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures Manage patients medically Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients Externship Details Externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships are offered to 4th‑year veterinary students. Eligibility & Stipend Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
