Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction and support to learners who are visually impaired across several education centers. This contract opportunity will enable you to collaborate with a dedicated team, working with caseloads of 25-30 students, primarily with vision disabilities. Many students may also have secondary or additional disabilities, requiring flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.

This assignment spans from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, for 37.5 hours per week. You will support students in 2-3 buildings, including North, South, and West Education Centers in a dynamic and supportive environment that serves individuals with significant behavioral and physical support needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid and current teaching certification/license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with school-aged children with a range of vision impairments
• Knowledge of assistive technologies for the visually impaired
• Comfort and experience in settings with students who have complex needs, including severe behavioral and physical disabilities
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across multiple sites
• Flexibility in adapting instruction for students with secondary or multiple disabilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, including conducting assessments and developing individualized education plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and classroom teachers to promote student access and success
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to meet each student’s unique needs
• Consult with staff and families regarding strategies for supporting visually impaired learners
• Travel to and support students in 2-3 education centers as assigned
