Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) needed for Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility in New Britain, Connecticut. This position involves working in a medically complex rehabilitation unit with cardiac monitoring, focusing on patient populations such as LVAD, cerebrovascular accidents (CVA), acquired brain injuries (ABI), spinal cord injuries (SCI), wounds, chronic acquired pulmonary disease (CAPD), and vents. The role requires providing specialized nursing care in a unique environment that emphasizes patient stabilization and recovery, with responsibilities including managing IV therapies, wound care, and patient monitoring.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working every other weekend.
• Required Qualifications: RN license with 1-2 years of experience, experience with respiratory or vented patients strongly preferred, BLS certification is required, ACLS certification is preferred, prior travel experience is a plus.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a medically complex or rehabilitation setting, familiarity with unit-specific procedures like IV starts, ECGs, wound dressing changes, trach care, suctioning, and central line dressing changes.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Nurse is responsible for procedures such as IV initiation, medication administration, blood product management, glucose monitoring, wound care, and dressing changes. Candidates must have a clean profile that is easy to follow; experience with respiratory/vented patients is strongly preferred. The role involves working in a non-traditional medical environment with the potential to float between similar units as required.
