Food Processing Equipment Reliability TechnicianWhat your day looks like

Every shift, you are the go-to problem solver for a fast-moving food manufacturing and packaging operation. You’ll start by scanning work orders, walking the floor, and prioritizing preventive maintenance that keeps our high-speed lines humming. When a packaging conveyor trips or a filler drifts out of spec, you dive in—mechanical tools in one hand, meter in the other—diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control issues with confidence. You’ll back up production by supporting PLC and basic controls troubleshooting, keep our robots and automated systems online, and fabricate the brackets or guards we need to finish repairs right. Throughout the day, you’ll communicate status with maintenance, production, and leadership, and you’ll close out with a tidy, safe, and compliant work area.

Core responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial food processing and packaging equipment operating at high speeds
• Execute preventive maintenance to cut downtime and boost reliability
• Diagnose and correct faults across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
• Assist with PLC troubleshooting and basic controls-related maintenance activities
• Support robotic manufacturing equipment and automated production systems
• Perform welding and fabrication to enable durable, safe repairs and modifications
• Service motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, sensors, and related plant assets
• Interpret manuals, schematics, diagrams, and OEM documentation to plan repairs
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and production maintenance calls with clear communication to stakeholders
• Follow all safety, food safety, GMP, LOTO, and company procedures; conduct machine safety inspections
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

What you bring

• Proven hands-on industrial maintenance experience with strong mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing setting
• Solid preventive maintenance experience and a reliability mindset
• Background with high-speed food processing and/or packaging equipment (preferred)
• Knowledge of programmable logic controls (PLCs); basic controls troubleshooting
• Familiarity with robotic manufacturing controls or automated systems (preferred)
• Welding and fabrication skills to support repairs and plant improvements
• Experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environments
• Ability to identify root causes and implement lasting corrective actions
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production facility with a focus on safety, quality, and uptime
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training, trade school, or related certifications are a plus
