Job Description Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) for Acute Care Surgery The Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) seeks an Associate Chief Medical Officer for Acute Care Surgery to join our growing hospital based team. As a Level II Trauma center, the highest trauma designation in Alaska, ANMC represents over 30 medical specialties and serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the entire state. The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) is responsible for clinical supervision and leadership of the operating room at ANMC, as well as being a clinical leader and provider with experience to assess clinical competence and current best practices. In collaboration with the chief medical officer, the ACMO will be responsible for the overall improvement of care delivery in all facets. The ACMO may choose to engage in any clinical area the ANMC administrator determines to be under the purview of the ACMO including but not limited to the acute care hospital, the ambulatory surgical environment, specialty clinics, and travel and housing. The role specifically is tasked with performance improvement of safety, quality, operations, patients experience and financial outcomes. Qualifications: MD/DO Degree Post Residency; clinical experience in specialty required. Valid and Unrestricted Alaska Medical license. Current American Board of Certification Specialty appropriate for service. BLS/ACLS Trained. Demonstrated engagement in quality improvement activities in a previous role as chief medical officer, service line medical director, chief medical information officer, chief resident or similar positions for a period of not less than one year.
