Junior Salesforce Business Analyst – Boston, MA – Hybrid About the Role The Velocity business unit is a fast‑moving, start‑up‑like organization within the broader PTC ecosystem, supporting the Onshape and Arena businesses. We are building a modern, scalable enterprise back‑office powered by Salesforce and cloud‑based technologies. This highly visible, people‑first role connects the Salesforce platform with the end users who depend on it every day. It offers a structured path to grow from a tech‑savvy power user to a junior administrator in a client‑facing environment. Key Responsibilities Engage directly with stakeholders and end users to gather feedback, solve day‑to‑day platform challenges, and translate business needs into Salesforce solutions. Serve as day‑to‑day point of contact for Salesforce users, triaging requests, answering questions, and resolving platform issues promptly. Partner with team leads, managers, and department stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable Salesforce configurations. Identify recurring pain points from user feedback and surface improvement opportunities to senior analysts or leadership. Manage user accounts, profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing rules to ensure the right people have the right access. Configure standard and custom Salesforce objects (Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities) as business needs evolve. Build and iterate on Flows to automate routine business processes under guidance from senior team members. Stay current with Salesforce releases, new features, and best practices; proactively identify capabilities that could benefit the organization. Contribute to sandbox testing of new features and configurations before deploying to production. Technical Requirements Exposure to Sales Cloud or Service Cloud in a professional or hands‑on learning context. Hands‑on familiarity with core Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, record types, and validation rules. Experience building or maintaining Salesforce reports and dashboards. Exposure to Salesforce Flows – understanding what they do and at least some experimentation. Nice to Have Salesforce Certified Administrator (ADM‑201) credential, or actively working toward certification at the time of application. Experience with third‑party integrations (e.g., HubSpot, Outreach, DocuSign, ZoomInfo) or middleware tools. Working knowledge of user management: profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing settings. Comfort working with data: CSV imports/exports, data hygiene practices, and basic understanding of data relationships within Salesforce. Additional Requirements Natural Curiosity – explores new features on Trailhead, release notes, or Google research to solve problems. Self‑Directed Learning – builds skills independently using Trailhead, YouTube, the Salesforce community, or peer networks. People & Communication Skills – communicates clearly and patiently with non‑technical colleagues, listens before solving, and builds rapport across teams and seniority levels. Ownership & Reliability – organized, detail‑oriented, honest about knowledge gaps, and actively seeks feedback as a development tool. Compensation The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $67,000 – $90,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Candidates may also be eligible for performance‑based bonuses and participate in the employee share purchase program (ESPP) and other equity programs.
