About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical – Kansas

Start Date: October 19, 2026 (additional orientation dates available: November 2, November 16, November 30, 2026)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation, holiday rotation required (2 federal holidays per year; 1 spring and 2 winter non-essential holidays). One requested holiday off permitted.

Highlights:

• 28-bed post-surgical unit specializing in bariatric, urology, nephrology procedures, and general surgical cases
• Epic charting system with test-out option available
• Contract length of 26-51 weeks preferred; 13-week contracts considered on a case-by-case basis
• Float to other post-surgical and medical surgical inpatient floors as needed
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient staffing ratio
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule with flexibility based on class size

Requirements:

• Active Kansas or Multistate RN license (no hits allowed, no exceptions)
• AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Progressive care or step-down experience preferred
• ADN or BSN degree
• No first-time travelers
• Vaccination requirements: Immunity status or proof of Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella; TDaP vaccine; Influenza vaccine or exemption; TB documentation
