Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianTo perform activities associated with maintaining the equipment and plant to ensure that its operation meets the needs of the manufacturing processes.Shifts Available: 1st Shift - 5:00 AM -3:30 PMHybrid- 5:00 PM -3:30 AMEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Provide daily support to plant operations.Troubleshoot and repair problems with plant machinery & equipment.Support implementation and installation of new and rebuilt equipment.Operate machinery, tools, gages, forklift equipment and booms.Electrical 480 v 3 phase, basic wiring of lights, presses and welders.Installation of plumbing, water, drain and air systems for presses, welders and buildingMaintenance of building and grounds during all seasons.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent, plus formal training leading to Journeyman status in Machine Repair and/or equivalent on the job experience.Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.3 plus years of related work experience.Must successfully complete all courses and/or tests outlined in the Department Training Phases I & II.CompetenciesTechnical CapacityAdvanced equipment troubleshooting skillsWorking knowledge of NEC and ANSI codesFamiliarity with automotive specificationsKnowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems sufficient to diagnose and repair machines.Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks required.Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on the plant floor.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
