We are offering a generous sign‑on bonus of $10,000 to eligible candidates who join our team. Job Summary Medical Laboratory Scientist II – CID – Day Shift. The Medical Laboratory Scientist II, in their role as Testing Personnel as defined by CLIA, is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of both waived and non‑waived test results. Under general supervision, each individual performs only those tests authorized by the laboratory manager and requiring a degree of skill commensurate with the individual’s education, training or experience, and technical abilities. Essential Functions After successful completion of orientation, training, and competency assessment on all instruments/methods applicable to their role: Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples. Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, and document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed. Follow the laboratory’s established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance. Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical consultant, technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or director. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications. (42 CFR 493.1425, 493.1495) Qualifications Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent; or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences. Licenses & Credentials – Medical Technologist (ASCP) – American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP‑BOC) preferred. Experience – 1–2 years laboratory experience required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and repair, and analytic techniques; ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment; attention to detail and adherence to written protocols; ability to communicate with supervisors when issues identified; team player with excellent interpersonal skills; professional interaction with physicians, hospital personnel, employees, and patients.
