Mortgage Loan Assistant

Under general supervision, but following existing policies , procedures and applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, prepares and processes all documents necessary to ensure the timely closing of all assigned conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage loans. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for reviewing all assigned loan files, following investor program guidelines to ensure all appropriate documentation is complied and submitted in a timely manner. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time. Regularly reviews and monitors all open assigned loan files maintaining frequent contact with the borrower(s) throughout the loan application, underwriting, and closing process. Follows-up with the appropriate party regarding all missing documentation and helps resolve discrepancies as they occur. Ensures all correspondence is appropriately documented in the mortgage loan tracking system. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
