Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of previous PCU/Stepdown experience required. License: Active state license in hand required. Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIH required. Must-Have: - Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted. - Medical and religious exemptions approved on a case-by-case basis. - Float required within scope of practice. - Every other weekend required. - Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated. Description: This position is for a Stepdown unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4/5. The role requires experience in PCU/Stepdown nursing. Candidates must possess AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH certifications. A state nursing license is a requirement. Flu vaccine is mandatory, with no exceptions for declinations. Medical and religious exemptions will be assessed individually. Flexibility to float within the scope of practice is necessary. Weekend shifts are a requirement, with shifts scheduled every other weekend. Blocked scheduling cannot be arranged. This position could involve changes in patient ratios depending on census and call-ins. No changes to requested time off (RTO) will be accepted once an offer has been made. The daily census on the unit averages 10 patients. The unit comprises 22 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. The patient age groups served are adults and geriatrics.
