Construction Engineer

Project Manager Responsibilities Managing all daily activities for a project, including cost, schedule, methodology, procedures, personnel, vehicle, equipment, and coordination of sub‑consultants and suppliers. Qualifications PE or PLS license in Illinois. Experience working with state and local agencies such as IDOT, ISTHA, CTA, and CDOT. Resident Engineer Responsibilities Daily on‑site observation of construction work, report preparation, and coordination of progress meetings with the contractor and owner. Management of the shop drawing review process and certification of contractor payrolls. Monitoring internal project budgets, reviewing and submitting monthly billings to the client, analyzing and negotiating change orders, and resolving contractor questions and drawing clarifications. Qualifications Familiarity with IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT policies and procedures. Documentation of Contract Quantities certification and ICORS certification. B.S. in civil engineering or related field. PE license. Crew Chief Responsibilities Leading a crew of 2–3 people to complete tasks such as traversing, leveling, GPS operations, collecting topography data, construction stakeout, and boundary surveys. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of field surveying experience, with at least 3 years as a crew chief. Proficiency in operating total stations, data collectors, levels, GPS equipment, and other surveying instruments. Experience in transportation‑related surveying and 3D laser scanner operation. B.S. in surveying, civil engineering, or related field. PLS/PE license a plus. Familiarity with IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT policies and procedures. Construction Engineer Responsibilities Construction survey and inspection. Qualifications State agency certifications such as Documentation of Contract Quantities from IDOT. Experience with state and local agencies, including IDOT, ISTHA, CTA, and CDOT. B.S. in surveying, civil engineering, or related field. CAD Technician Responsibilities Support design team by creating and maintaining drawings using Microstation/GeoPack. Qualifications 2–4 years of experience with Microstation/GeoPack. B.S. preferred. Organized and detail‑oriented. Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team. Civil Engineer Responsibilities Site development engineering, including site grading, site and roadway pavement design, utility services and extensions, stormwater management systems, and area and roadway lighting. Qualifications Three to five years of experience desired. Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D Civil or Land Desktop. Instrument Person Responsibilities Operating and maintaining survey instruments such as total stations, data collectors, levels, and other surveying tools. Qualifications At least 3 years of field surveying experience. Good communication skills. Ability to work in the Chicago weather environment. Experience in transportation‑related surveying, GPS operation, and 3D laser scanner operation a plus.
