Senior Cost Manager

This role is for a Senior Cost Manager based in New York, NY, who will be a member of our highly reputable cost and commercial management team. Responsibilities Prepare and complete deliverables for assigned projects of all sizes and complexity during the various stages of design through construction, either directly or through management of team members. Oversee the preparation of deliverables, provide mentoring to other team members, and manage small teams. Perform workloads and team management such as QA/QC, fee proposals, and task management. Reconcile invoices and change orders with GC, subcontractors, and third parties. Perform value analysis, risk and value management evaluations, and undertake peer review processes. Develop and nurture client relationships to ensure client satisfaction; prepare bid analysis and post‑contract support. Support senior management by providing reports and responding to information inquiries. Prepare project plans and participate in local industry events. Adhere to attendance during normal business hours and adapt to varied hours, including weekends or evenings if required. Knowledge & Skills Required Proficient in cost estimating for construction projects and pricing expertise across all phases. Strong research skills and ability to allocate relevant data. Proficiency in measurement, understanding of trades, procurement strategies, and delivery methods. Ability to integrate with other departments and interpret detailed project information. Experience in risk analysis, value management, and cost control. Competence with construction documents such as Arch, Civil, Structural, MEP, Geotech, Site Logistics, and Schedules. Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to build relationships with peers, leaders, and clients. Strong organizational skills, independence, mentoring capability, and the ability to work efficiently in fast‑paced environments. Proficient with current technology and software, especially Excel. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in construction, cost & commercial management, engineering, quantity surveying, or related field. 4 to 5 years in cost & commercial management or quantity surveying with professional accreditation. Professional accreditation (MRICS, AssocRICS, CCP, CEP, CPE or equivalent). Experience working on retail, themed entertainment, food and beverage, and/or hospitality projects.
