We’reseeking a seasoned AEM Edge Delivery Services (EDS) Senior Backend Developer tobuild, andoptimizeAEM-based content platforms with a focus on AEM as a Cloud Service , Universal Editor , Content Fragment APIs/GraphQL , Sling/OSGi services , and integration with external systems. You will lead backend engineering across multi-region, scalable deployments, ensuring performance, security, resilience, and DevOps maturity in cloud-native AEM environments. Key Responsibilities Architecture&Design ImplementbackendsolutionsforAEM (CloudService) and EDSincluding SlingModels , OSGiservices , customworkflows , and contentAPIs . Modelcontentwith ContentFragmentModels ;exposestructuredcontentvia GraphQL ;structureAPIsforomnichannelconsumption. Definecachingstrategiesusing Dispatcher/CDN (Fastly/Akamai/CloudFront) forEDS andclassicAEMdelivery. Establishnon-functionalrequirements(NFRs): performanceSLAs,uptime, DR,observability, andsecuritybaselines. Development&Integration Implementbusinesslogicin Sling/OSGi ,extend CoreComponents , andbuildbackendservicesintegratingwithCRM, PIM, DAM, marketingtech,oridentityproviders. Develop REST/GraphQLendpoints ;manageserviceaccounts,scopes, andsecuresecrets. Integrate Adobe IMS , Adobe I/ORuntime , Adobe Target/Analytics,translationservices, andpersonalizationAPIs. Cloud, DevOps &Quality OwnCI/CD pipelines (GitHubActions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins)for AEM CloudService includingcodequalitygates,staticanalysis,automatedtests, anddeploymentpromotion. Implement automatedunit/integrationtests (JUnit,Mockito) and contracttesting forAPIs. Set up observability (logs,metrics,tracing)viaCloud Manager/Kibana/NewRelic/Datadog; definealertingandSLOs. Security &Compliance Apply OWASP bestpractices;secureendpoints,headers,sessionmanagement;hardenOSGiconfigs. HandlePIIcompliance, dataretention, andencryption;designrole-basedaccessandworkflowgovernance. Leadership&Collaboration Mentordevelopers;ownbacklogrefinement;collaboratewitharchitects,productowners, QA, andfrontendsquads. Contributetosolutionroadmaps,estimation, andstakeholdercommunication. Must have qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: 8–12+years ofsoftwareengineering; 6+years withAEM; 4 +years with AEM CloudService and EdgeDeliveryServices . Strong Java 11+/17 , Sling , OSGi , JCR , Oak , AEM CoreComponents , ContentFragments , GraphQL . Experiencewith Universal Editor authoringmodelsand EDSdeliveryworkflows. APIdesign (REST/GraphQL), integrationpatterns , event-driven architectures, messaging (e.g., Kafka, AzureServiceBus). DevOps : CI/CD,InfrastructureasCode(Terraformoptional),cloudlogging/monitoring; Dispatcher/CDN tuning. Security : OAuth2/OIDC, JWT,secureheaders,secretsmanagement(Vault/KMS), SSO/SAML/Adobe IMS. Performanceengineering:caching,indexing,queryoptimization,assetprocessing, andpaginationstrategies. Nice to have qualifications Adobe Cloud Manager pipeline tuning, Adobe I/O Runtime (serverless), Adobe Target/Launch/Analytics integration. Headless/omnichannel delivery to mobile/web/IoT. Experience with GraphQL federation, schema stitching, or API gateways (Apigee/Kong/Azure APIM).
