Pastor Park Woods Presbyterian Church

Park Woods Presbyterian Church (PCA) is searchingfor ourLord's next under-shepherd. Theological and Ministry Preferences: The ministry of God's Word and God's Holy Sacraments are central. The pastor is not primarily an administrator, but is called to an office to preach and teach and administer the sacraments, letting the Holy Spirit do his work. All Scripture is eschatological. From Genesis through Revelation, redemptive history is pointing us forward to Jesus, first in his humiliation and then in his exaltation. With an emphasis on the two-age structure, we recognize that the heavenly reality is ours to partake in right now; focusing on cultural and social issues distracts us from the mission of the church. Preaching should call us to follow the Lamb. Our lives are ones of suffering, then glory. This life under the cross is manifest in many ways, including sacrificing for others. We are looking for an emphasis on biblical theology in the tradition of Vos, Kline, Beale, Ridderbos, Gaffin, and even some who are outside the reformed tradition. Total agreement is not necessary to find value in the work of the larger body of Christ. We are looking for: One who has a teachable demeanor. One who is able to communicate with all age levels. One to be the primary teacher for the adult Sunday School class and lead/teach an occasional Bible study series. One who preaches expositional series with the occasional topical series. A shepherd to the flock. Miscellaneous: Our practice is to observe the Lord's Supper weekly. The table is fenced by a word of caution during the table address. We are a regional church body, gathering folks from all over the metro area. Our YouTube channel is: @parkwoodspresbyterianchurc6083 #J-18808-Ljbffr MinistryList
