Job Title: Technician Job Description

We are currently seeking Environmental Technicians to manage the unloading of non-hazardous waste, ensuring vehicles are decontaminated, and waste is properly staged for scanning and processing. The role requires individuals to work on their feet for extended periods while performing tasks safely and productively.

Responsibilities

• Unload non-hazardous waste from incoming vehicles and trucks.

• Load sorted materials from bins, pallets, and boxes into vehicles or trucks.

• Sort non-hazardous materials into designated sections.

• Break down boxes that materials are delivered in.

• Maintain housekeeping, ensuring spills are cleaned, floors are dry, and debris is managed immediately.

• Ensure boxes are sealed properly and pallets are secure with shrink wrap before transportation.

• Assist in other plant operations as needed, with cross-training in shipping docks, receiving docks, and the yard.

• Previous warehouse experience in non-climate controlled environments

• Forklift experience

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
