Residential Counselor – Make a Daily Impact in Someone’s LifeAt BHcare, we believe that every individual deserves support, dignity, and a safe path to independence. We’re seeking a compassionate and motivated Residential Counselor to join our team and provide hands-on support, skill-building, and emotional encouragement to adults working toward greater self-sufficiency and community integration.This position is a part-time position, 32 hours per week. The schedule is Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4pm-12am.What You’ll Do:Provide daily living assistance including hygiene, meal planning, medication protocols, cleaning, and budgetingDevelop and implement individual recovery plans in coordination with clients, treatment teams, and natural supportsFacilitate rehabilitation groups and provide interventions to help clients build life skills and maintain stabilityMonitor and document client progress using electronic health records (EHR) and communication logsProvide transportation and accompany clients to appointments as neededEnsure safety and well-being of clients during all shifts, including crisis response and overnight supervisionComplete referrals and linkages to mental health, vocational, and community resourcesUse principles of Motivational Interviewing and support clients with co-occurring disorders using the IDDT modelMaintain medication logs and ensure safe protocols for self-medicationPerform routine cleaning and third-shift documentation as requiredShift Flexibility:Day, evening, and overnight positions available. Overnight staff are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean environment and monitoring clients while awake and alert throughout the shift.What You’ll Bring:Education/Experience: Two years of college OR high school diploma/equivalent with 2 years of direct care experienceSkills: Strong communication, basic computer proficiency (Microsoft 365), EHR navigationMindset: Empathy, patience, organization, and a passion for helping others thriveLicenses: Valid driver’s license with insurable driving recordBonus: Public Passenger License (or willingness to obtain – not required for overnight shifts)Why BHcare?We are a community-focused organization offering behavioral health and supportive services to individuals across all walks of life. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
