Palo Alto, CA / New York City, NY / San Francisco, CA / Seattle, WAEngineering – Engineering - DevOps /Full-time /HybridWe’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with Networking expertise to join our Infrastructure team, where you will work with hardware and networking across our data centers, offices, and the cloud to build and maintain critical financial systems.Wealthfront’s Infrastructure team is a team of “Generalists with Expertise” who adhere to the principles of infrastructure-as-code and automation. We operate both physical servers and cloud-based computing, and our network spans both environments. About The RoleAs a member of the Networking team, you will play a key role in shaping future network architecture. You operate comfortably across hardware and software boundaries, writing code to automate infrastructure and bringing strategic expertise to designing, implementing, and maintaining systems. You approach Networking problems with a bias towards vendor-agnostic IaC solutions. As a key member of the Infrastructure team, you will:Manage our networking and server hardware, topology, and connectivity in our physical data centers and cloud Design and build network telemetry, monitoring, and observabilityBuild and maintain an automated change management pipeline to deploy network configuration revisions and provision hardware Ensure critical services operate reliably by triaging and fixing operational issues as an on-call engineer, participating in post-mortems and implementing improvements to prevent future issuesMake and collaborate on key decisions regarding the evolution of our infrastructure, such as our hybrid cloud architectureBe responsible for liaising with third parties, vendors and internet service providers as well as traveling to our Bay Area and New Jersey data centers and offices for onsite networking projectsThis role could be a fit if you have:Proficiency with automation technology including Terraform, Ansible, and ChefProficiency with at least one language such as Go, Python, or Ruby and configuration management tools such as GitDemonstrated experience with Linux systemsExperience with automating production data center environments, including hardware provisioning, network device configuration, and capacity planningProficiency with Networking protocols such as BGP, MLAG, VLANs, DNSExcellent communications and organizational skillsBS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experienceStrong candidate may also have:Experience with routing and switching in data centersFamiliarity with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, Juniper switchesBackground on VPN technologies, like OpenVPN, IPSec, TLSExperience with AWS Networking technologies like Direct Connect, NACLs, Security Groups, VPC, etcOnce you join, Wealthfront will:Provide you with a mentor who who will support you in your onboarding journeyEncourage you to lead impactful projects that match your professional goalsSupport your professional development by providing feedback during weekly 1:1s and our bi-annual reviewsProvide autonomy so you can be a happy and successful member of our teamEstimated annual salary range: $172,000 - $228,000 plus equity and a discretionary bonus.Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401K plan, generous time off, parental leave, wellness reimbursements, professional development, employee investing discount, and more!About WealthfrontHere at Wealthfront, our mission is to create a financial system that favors people, not institutions.
