Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Dickinson, North Dakota.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP position at a rural acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and NRP certification.Details\n \n LDRP unit with 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds\n Cares for patients >35 weeks gestation in labor and Mom/Baby couplets\n Follows AWHONN staffing ratios: Labor 1:1-2, Postpartum 1:2-3\n Uses MEDITECH EMR and OB Trace Vue for EFM\n Required to titrate drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, Zofran, and postpartum pain medications\n Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment\n Manages neonatal respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPap, high flow) for troubleshooting purposes\n Surgery team manages C-sections; RN role is to circulate for the baby\n 12-hour night shifts on a 7-7 block scheduling system\n Required to work every third weekend\n Holiday coverage based on availability\n Floating required to MSP/ED, primarily for 1:1 patient sitting\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC) required for the state of submission\n Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP\n Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required\n BSN not required\n Must pass fit testing (3M Aura 1860 or 3M 1870+); facial hair may disqualify candidates unless alternative testing is passed\n Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility\n Additional Information\n \n This is a rural hospital with limited services and no on-site NICU (nearest NICU is over an hour away)\n Success in this unit depends on teamwork, provider consistency, clinical knowledge, independence, and strong communication skills\n No clinical involvement required beyond standard unit duties\n Scrubs are provided\n Unit-specific orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts\n Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for shorter assignments)\n Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year\n Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-756170.
