Now, let's talk about the role itself. BW is looking for a hands-on Material Handler to help keep materials moving accurately and efficiently throughout our warehouse and production areas. This role is responsible for receiving and putting away incoming materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, replenishing production areas, building material kits, and ensuring our teams have the parts and supplies they need to keep production moving. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

This is an on-site role based at our Pittsburg, CA facility.

Step into the dynamic role we're offering with a variety of exciting responsibilities:

Receiving & Put-Away

• Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities, part numbers, and condition against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and document or report issues according to established procedures.
• Accurately and promptly put away materials in designated warehouse and stockroom locations.
• Enter receiving and material location information into the ERP/WMS system.

Material Preparation & Organization

• Label incoming and stored materials with the appropriate part numbers, lot/date codes, and location information.
• Bag, tag, and package parts and sub-assemblies according to work instructions and quality standards.
• Ensure materials are clearly and accurately identified and meet company and customer requirements.
• Maintain organized, safe, and clearly identified warehouse and storage areas.

Inventory Accuracy & Cycle Counting

• Perform scheduled and as-needed cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with identifying root causes.
• Support corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
• Maintain accurate on-hand inventory records within the ERP/WMS system.

Kanban & Production Replenishment

• Monitor Kanban bins and cards and trigger replenishment at established reorder points.
• Restock Kanban locations and point-of-use inventory throughout production.
• Proactively monitor assigned production areas and replenish materials before shortages impact production.
• Identify and communicate material shortages, Kanban issues, or other concerns that could cause production delays.
• Deliver parts, consumables, and supplies to the appropriate production areas to help prevent line stoppages.

Material Kitting & Movement

• Pull, stage, and build component and material kits based on bills of materials (BOMs) or work order requirements.
• Verify kits for accuracy and completeness before delivery to production.
• Deliver completed kits to the appropriate work centers on schedule.
• Move materials between receiving, stockroom, production, shipping, and outside processing areas as needed.
• Safely operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts, as applicable.

Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Follow all safety, quality, and 5S procedures throughout warehouse and production areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Safely operate material handling equipment and maintain required certifications.
• Communicate material issues and shortages promptly to the appropriate team members.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to material flow, inventory accuracy, and workplace organization.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Experience working in a warehouse, stockroom, material handling, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
• Ability to accurately receive, label, organize, count, and move materials.
• Experience using an ERP, WMS, inventory management, or similar computer-based system.
• Familiarity with cycle counting and inventory control practices.
• Experience with Kanban or other material replenishment systems is a plus.
• Experience pulling materials and building kits from BOMs or work orders is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with Production, Shipping, Purchasing, and other teams.
• Dependable, proactive, and able to recognize and communicate material shortages before they disrupt production.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and 5S practices.
• This role requires full-time on-site presence at our Pittsburg, CA facility.
