Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with 233 staffed beds
• General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patients, STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 5:45 AM to 6:15 PM
• Required to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required outside of service line
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (no issuance if tied to another compact state)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS required; CPI and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in trauma care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, EKG/ECG interpretation, and triage
• Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including acute psychosis and suicidal patients
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute conditions including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and pediatric emergencies
• Navy scrub color required
• Must have facial hair that allows for proper fit testing or be willing to shave, no exceptions
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to this health system as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break in service afterward
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Pending license accepted for consideration
