Role Overview An X-Ray Technician for multispecialty practice. The duties of Technician vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioner's specialty. Responsibilities Assist physician with evaluation and treatment of patients Assist physician with special procedures Coordinate the reading of all x-ray films with physician Initiate and maintain correspondence with patients and insurance companies Maintain accurate record of all x-ray films, including appropriate log entries and accurate filing Perform basic functions such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing Perform basic radiology tests and oversee the production of x-rays Prepare patients for physician evaluation Relay information to patients regarding preparation of laboratory tests and examinations and arrange examining room instruments and equipment, keeping the examining room neat and clean Represent the clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondence Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients and assure patient confidentiality at all times Takes patients' medical history, information pertaining to the patients' visit to the doctor, and records vital signs of patients to help the doctor with diagnosis Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician's office 1-3 years experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologists license and New Jersey state license Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook required CPR Certification approved by AHA Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Medical and Prescription Drug Insurance Dental and Vision Insurance Retirement Plans Short & Long Term Disability Life & Accidental Death Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Health Care/Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts Wellness Programs Voluntary Benefits (e.g., Pet Insurance) Discounts through our partners such as NJ Devils, NJ PAC, Verizon, and more #J-18808-Ljbffr
