Key Responsibilities\nAs a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Conducting thorough intake assessments and screenings to identify the mental health needs of students and recommending appropriate intervention strategies. \n
- Providing short-term individual counseling to students facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and academic pressure. \n
- Facilitating group therapy sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing student well-being and fostering personal development. \n
- Collaboratively partnering with academic advisors, residential life staff, and student organizations to promote a comprehensive support network for students. \n
- Leading outreach initiatives and prevention efforts such as mental health awareness campaigns and wellness workshops. \n
- Maintaining detailed, accurate, and confidential records in compliance with ethical and legal standards. \n
You will primarily work with a diverse population of college students, each with unique backgrounds and mental health concerns. Understanding the complex challenges faced by students—from academic stress to personal issues—is vital. Your role will directly impact their ability to thrive in both their academic and personal lives.
Qualifications\nThe ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

- An active license as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). \n
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. \n
- A deep understanding of the common mental health challenges and issues faced by college students. \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students and work collaboratively with a diverse campus community. \n
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and condensed therapy models appropriate for a university counseling center. \n
- The ability to manage a diverse caseload while adapting to a fast-paced work environment. \n
While not required, preferred experience includes:

- Familiarity with existing campus resources and networks. \n
