Real Estate Attorney

Experienced Residential Real Estate Associate KGMD is seeking an experienced residential real estate attorney to join our growing practice. We are looking for someone who is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and able to independently manage residential real estate transactions from contract through closing. The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience representing buyers and sellers in New York City co-op, condominium and residential real estate transactions and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume practice. Responsibilities include: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts of sale and riders Conducting and reviewing due diligence for co-op and condominium purchases, including offering plans, amendments, financial statements, board minutes, questionnaires and building records Identifying and advising clients regarding financial, legal and building-related diligence issues Reviewing title and lien searches and handling title clearance Reviewing surveys, violations, permits and other property-related diligence Handling financing-related issues and coordinating with lenders and lender's counsel Drafting amendments, escrow agreements, possession agreements, closing documents and other transaction-specific agreements Coordinating with clients, brokers, managing agents, lenders, title companies and opposing counsel Preparing transactions for closing, including reviewing closing figures and adjustments Representing clients at closings Independently managing deadlines and moving transactions efficiently from contract through closing Qualifications: Admitted to practice in New York Minimum 3-5 years of substantive residential real estate experience preferred Strong experience negotiating NYC residential contracts Strong working knowledge of co-op and condominium due diligence Ability to independently identify issues and propose practical solutions Excellent drafting, communication and organizational skills Comfortable managing multiple active transactions and competing deadlines Client-focused, responsive and able to work collaboratively with a busy transactional team This is a full-time, in-person position .
