CNC Programmer

Job Summary Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software such as CAMWorks to meet production specifications. Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate machining operations. Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with precision tooling. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions. Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, geometry, or machine performance; make necessary adjustments for quality control. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements for continuous manufacturing excellence. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD models using SolidWorks or CATIA for tool design and fixture development. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G‑code and M‑code. Experience with Fanuc and HAAS CNC machine interfaces. Strong knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA for designing parts and fixtures. Expertise in CAM programming for CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with GD&T specifications. Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fixtures, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to enhance process efficiency. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, tooling selection, geometry calculations, and schematics interpretation. Strong math skills essential for precise measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances. Experience working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) reports for quality assurance purposes.
