Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide acute care in a behavioral health setting. This position will involve floating between units as per the needs of the facility.

Shift Details

• Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Required to work one weekend (Saturday/Sunday) every two weeks
• On-call Requirement: No

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, and PTSD.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5.
• Utilize hands-on care techniques and manage seclusion and restraint protocols effectively.
• Perform crisis intervention and behavior management as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in behavioral health.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Completion of PMAB (Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior) training before starting on the unit.
• Ability to manage patients in high-acuity situations while adhering to unit protocols and policies.
• Must have a valid compact state nursing license.
• A reliable vehicle is required for travel between assignment locations.

Unit Details

This position is situated within a 33-bed acute adult psychiatric unit. The unit provides care based on a full spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses and is equipped to address varying levels of behavioral acuity.

• Facility Type: Short-term acute care
• Charting System: Epic

Additional Information

Employees will be required to work three out of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) and must request all time off and scheduling preferences at the time of submission.

Travelers may be required to float to nearby facilities to meet patient care needs, and refusal to float could lead to potential termination of the assignment.
