Are you passionate about games and frontend development? As a Senior Software Engineer , you'll help build and support our application used by millions of users worldwide for gaming consoles and desktop platforms. You will work on all parts of the application, focusing on frontend app architecture, Luau-driven systems, and crafting seamless 10ft user interfaces. If delivering the best experience to millions of users resonates with you, you'll be right at home within our growing Console & Desktop team. You will report to the Sr. Engineering Manager on the team.

You Will:

• Develop and support the Roblox client application for Gaming Consoles, PC, and Mac platforms.
• Architect and implement intuitive frontend experiences specifically optimized for 10ft interfaces and controller navigation.
• Leverage Luau to build high-performance, scalable UI frameworks and application logic.
• Work with Product and Design to ensure the product embodies the shared vision and maintains a premium "living room" feel.
• Use best programming and testing practices, writing unit and integration tests for complex frontend workflows.
• Build the best features used by millions of users, focusing on responsiveness, accessibility, and scriptable UI .
• Take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle.
• Work with our Xbox and PlayStation counterparts to ensure feature parity and platform-specific UI excellence.

You Have:

• 4+ years of experience in developing complex applications, with a heavy emphasis on frontend architecture and 10ft UI/UX design.
• Proficiency in modern C++ and deep expertise in Luau (or other modern frontend scripting language).
• Extensive experience building dynamic user interfaces that feel native to a television and console environment.
• Comfort using metrics and logging to analyze UI performance, feature engagement, and user patterns.
• The ability to shift focus and enjoy working outside your comfort zone.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page .

Annual Salary Range

$196,750-$243,290 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
