Medical Assistant Medical Office Rep

*Job Summary and Responsibilities* As our Medical Assistant Medical Office Rep, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW. Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills. To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients. *Job Requirements**Required* High School Graduate or High School GED Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by DHMF H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.) Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire *Preferred* Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant preferred Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist preferred; or an equivalent amount of experience in a high-volume customer service role in another industry/environment; or 6 months experience as a Phone Receptionist or Health Information Associate within DHMF Where You'll Work Dignity Health Medical Foundation, established in 1993, is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation with care centers throughout California.
