Accounting Assistant

Summary Responsible for monitoring, operating, maintaining, and repairing various sanitation and landfill equipment, including blower enclosed glass flares, methane gas systems, compressed air systems, and wheel wash systems. Essential Functions Monitors, operates, maintains, and repairs various sanitation and landfill equipment, including blower enclosed glass flares, leachate pump stations, stand‑by generators, methane gas systems, compressed air systems, and wheel wash systems; collects storm water and leachate samples and delivers to appropriate locations for analysis; prepares and maintains a variety of reports, forms, records and/or other related documents, ensuring compliance with applicable State, County and Local regulations; and performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma, or G.E.D., supplemented with one year of related landfill equipment operation and maintenance experience that includes maintenance and operation of a flare and gas system and of a pump station system. Five years of experience and/or related vocational or technical training is preferred. Licensing And Certifications Must have a regular Class D driver’s license. Supplemental Information Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, extreme temperatures, workplace restrictions, intense noises, and infectious diseases.
