Assistant Member Relations Coordinator

Based in Burbank, CA

IATSE Local 871 is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Member Relations Coordinator. IATSE Local 871 represents a diverse group of crafts in Film, Television, Commercial, and Sports Broadcast Production - Script Supervisors, Teleprompter Operators, Production and Assistant Production Coordinators, Art Department Coordinators, Production Accountants, Assistant Accountants, and Payroll Accountants, Script Coordinators, Writers’ Assistants, and varied Sports Broadcast Crafts. 

Member Relations duties include but are not limited to: 

• Advising incoming members of requirements to join and benefits of union membership
• Advising on the union security clause
• Tracking and aggregation of work, payroll, and earnings report data
• Facilitating payment plans, upgrades, or other status changes.

The Assistant Member Relations Coordinator reports directly to the Member Relations Coordinator. This position will be required to: 

• Create and maintain files for all incoming members
• Generate invitations, 72- hour notices, and upgrade correspondence
• Assist with processing benefit reports and payroll reports (data entry and database upload)
• Assist the office with preparing & providing Availability Lists, status checks, phone support, and projects as needed
• Jump into projects as directed by the Member Relations Coordinator

There will be heavy email contact as well as phone and in-person discussions with members and potential members.

Candidates must be team players; must have meticulous attention to detail and ability to focus on minute details for extended time periods; must have the ability to keep detailed records and notes; must have an aptitude for research and organized work habits; be a good listener; be comfortable talking with members and potential members and having difficult conversations. Candidates should strive to provide stellar customer service and have a desire to promote Union membership.

Candidates must be tech savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook, Share Point, etc.; ability to learn and become proficient with use of company database and other software. Must have good math skills and excellent customer service skills. 

This position is represented by OPEIU Local 537. Union membership will be required following a 90-day probationary period. Compensation is $31.21/hr and is OT eligible. Generous health and pension benefits.

Hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00AM – 5:30PM.
