Job Summary Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an Instrument Fitter for a project in Wilmington, NC. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plans layout, fabricates, assembles, repairs and installs instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, including primary piping, tubing and other instrument needs. Take measurements, fabricate and install pipe tubing or conduit for the installation of air or process lines for instrument controls using port-a-band, tubing cutters and tubing benders. Install instruments, instrument stands and control wiring to valves and stroke valves to verify operation. Installation and calibration of recorders, alarms, switches and other devices. Installation and activation of DCS systems. Help coordinate movement of materials & equipment to work locations and set up a work site. Complete and review records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform various cleanup activities. Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics and electricity. Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Observe all safety and project rules. Read ISO's, Blueprints, P&ID's. Read and interpret instructions, plan, document and perform work activities independently. Solve practical problems such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions. Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of experience. Skilled in both written and verbal communication. Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC. Adhere to SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times. Physical Demands Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Work in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, including confined spaces. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.
