Senior Auditor

AJ Chambers is partnering with a leading public accounting and advisory firm looking to add an Audit Senior to its growing San Antonio team. This opportunity would suit an auditor who is ready to take greater ownership of engagements, develop their technical skills and play an active role in supporting and mentoring junior team members. You’ll work across a diverse client portfolio, gaining exposure to a variety of industries while working closely with experienced Managers and Partners. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of key areas of audit engagements from planning through to completion. Help develop audit approaches based on client‑specific risks and engagement requirements. Perform and review audit procedures across a diverse client portfolio. Prepare and review financial statements and supporting documentation. Identify and help resolve accounting and audit issues throughout engagements. Supervise, coach and support junior audit professionals. Review complex client transactions and develop your technical accounting knowledge. Research technical accounting and auditing matters where required. Communicate directly with clients and help manage outstanding engagement items. Work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver engagements efficiently and to a high standard. What We’re Looking For 2+ years of public accounting audit experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; Master's degree advantageous. CPA qualification or eligibility and willingness to work towards obtaining a CPA license. Strong understanding of financial statement audits and general audit procedures. Experience supervising, mentoring or reviewing the work of junior staff would be beneficial. Strong client communication and relationship‑building skills. Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines simultaneously. Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills. Experience with CCH Engagement or similar audit software would be advantageous. Industry experience is flexible, with candidates from a broad range of audit backgrounds considered.
